Advice for the kids

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.
Advice for the kids.
The words below are not mine, click on the heart symbol, to see where I got them from. I came across the site and really enjoyed reading all the stories of repentance.
I decided to compile what I thought would be beneficial for teaching children/teenagers.
& Allah knows best.

An education starts at home first. The parents/guardians of a child[ren] are its first teacher(s).

As I've 'grown-up' and worked in a setting around other peoples children I realised children can teach one a lot about the world and a lot about oneself too....I realised how much a parent can be affected by their child...
I also realised what, children are the future, means.

May God bless EVERYONE'S guardian(s) or parent(s). Truly they are such a blessing and mercy from God. May Allah grant them all jannah al firdaus and reunite us with them in jannah al firdaus amongst our blessed brother and sister, may peace, love, light and blessings be upon them all, Amin.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Your Mother, your Mother, your Mother, your Father.

The Advice of al-Khidr

Shaikh al-Ghazaali reported that Musa [Moses] asked al-Khidr to advise him. He said:

"Be someone who constantly smiles, and not someone who is constantly angry. Be someone who benefits others, and not someone who harms others. Refrain from argumentation. Do not walk around without purpose. Do not laugh without a reason. Do not disparage wrongdoers by mentioning their mistakes to them. And cry over your misdeeds."

The Ever-Living Never Sleeps

Both of them lived in a small town that was populated by only tens or hundreds of people. He was in love with her, and so when he saw her walking alone one night, he followed her until he had her cornered.
When he came near to her, he said, "Woman, I crave for you."

She said, "First go and see if all the people are asleep."

Very pleased at her response, he walked around the town and returned.
"Everyone is asleep," he said.

"What about Allah Azza wa Jal?" she asked. "Is He sleeping at this hour?"

"Woman, what are you saying?" he exclaimed. "Indeed, Allah does not sleep: neither slumber nor sleep overtake Him."

"The One Who hasn't slept and doesn't sleep sees us, even if people don't see us," she said:
"Do you not fear He Who neither sleeps nor is heedless of anything that happens?"

The man left her alone with tears flowing from his eyes, having nothing in mind except the desire to repent to the One Who neither sleeps nor is heedless of anything that happens.

Good Advice

During one of his journeys, Sari as-Saqati passed by a cave, from which he heard continuous sobbing. Aroused by curiosity, he entered the cave and saw a young man whose body seemed to be wasted away by grief and sadness. Having immediately perceived that the man was a righteous worshipper, Sari humbly asked:
“O young man, how is safety achieved?”

He said:
“By performing all prescribed acts of worship, by not wronging others, and by repenting to Allah.”

Sari asked, “Can you please deliver a sermon to me?”

The young man said:
“The best sermon you can receive is by looking into your own self. But I will say this: be obedient to Allah when you are alone, for doing so will atone for your sins, and Allah will then display you to the inhabitants of the heavens.”

The Advice of al-Hasan

al-Hasan once wrote the following short letter to Umar bin Abdul Azeez:

"Fear what Allah told you to fear. Take what is in your hands, and use it for what is to come. At the moment of death, sure news will come to you and peace."

Umar wrote back, asking al-Hasan to advise him some more. Al-Hasan wrote back:

"Indeed the terror of the Day of Resurrection is greater than you might think. Indeed, frightful matters are near at hand. You will have to face all of that, either by facing it all and being saved, or by facing it all and being destroyed. Know that he who takes account of his own deeds will succeed, and that he who is negligent in this regard will fail. Whoever looks at the outcomes of his actions will be saved, while he who obeys his desires will be misguided. Whoever is patient and forbearing will gain profits. Whoever remains awake and vigilant regarding his deeds will be safe, whoever is safe reflects, whoever reflects sees, whoever sees understands, and whoever understands knows. Then if you slip, return and repent. And when you are remorseful, then refrain [from sins]. When you are ignorant, ask. And when you are angry, restrain your anger."

Race Towards Repentance

Wanting to advise his son al-Hasan, Ali ibn Abi Taalib said, "My son: Beware of three, be in harmony with three, be modest before three, race to three, flee from three, be in disagreeent with three, fear three, and hope of three."

"O my father, please explain," said al-Hasan

"Beware of pride, anger, and the base kind of ambition.
Live in harmony with Allah's Book, His Messenger's sunnah, and the lives of His righteous slaves.
Hurry away from sinning, race to repentance and sprint forward in the pursuit of knowledge.
My son, flee from lying, treachery and transgression. Be in disagreement with evil and its people, hypocrisy and its people, and foolishness and its people.
Fear Allah, fear the company of those who do not fear Allah, and fear the evil speech of your tongue.
Hope for Allah to forgive your sins, to accept your deeds, and to accept the intercession of your Prophet."

Don't be bitter my friend

I  start in the name of God, The Most Loving, The Most Compassionate.

This is a poem my Rumi called 'Don't Be Bitter My Friend', it speaks volumes.
I really love this poem. It's a lesson everyone should learn.

Don't be bitter my friend
You'll regret it soon
Hold to your togetherness
Or surely you'll scatter

Don't walk away gloomy
From this garden
You'll end up like an owl
Dwelling in old ruins

Face the war and
Be a warrior like a lion
Or you'll end up like a pet
Tucked away in a stable

Once you conquer
Your selfish self
All your darkness
Will change to light

C'est la vie pas le paradis

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

I have always been an avid writer of poetry, from a very young age. I still like to write it sometimes.
Today I wrote this. Whatever thoughts came to mind about different stuff I flung typed them up...
The writing in pink is a poem I wrote on Instagram about 8 weeks ago.

This world is filled with so much greed.
That they forget about all those people in need.
They ask "what shall I wear on 'another day'?"
Whilst they forget to pray.
They walk the path that will no doubt lead them astray
Whilst they down talk people, "move out my way".
They are at war with the peasants, paupers and poor...
The rich at heart know to knock only on heavens door.

Injustice everywhere.
Nobody cares.

Whilst children scream as bombs fall on their homeland, "this is not fair"
Tell me now, is a child's cry a lie?!
Children seeing their parents die right before their eyes.

Their generation wiped out right before their eyes!
Your war of 'freedom', 'protection', whatever you call it, it's a lie.
Most of them have never seen someone die before their eyes.
Most of them have forgotten what is feels like to cry.
They go on their holidays, getaways
They live up life like they have all the days.
They don't like to pray.
They like to stray.

They call Muslim "terrorists".
Whilst their elite make the hit-lists.

True Muslims or Believers stand for peace and justice.
Not the ugliness and greed.
Muslims live by the righteous creed.
If you see Muhammad, peace be upon him, commands in war.
You'll realise the believers knock on heavens door.
You'll realise they follow the rules, A LAW.

They try to make Muslims look bad. Which is quite sad.
When really it is them who are mad.
Their going mad, ungrateful not glad to The Lord who is Infinite.
They hear the truth and they spit in spite and think it is them who is right.

Never opened a real book to read, that's what causes their greed.
Their hearts and souls in need.
But their man-made-man they try to please.
Whilst for their cameras they smile and say CHEESE.
Not seeing that there's a child, dying who can't breathe.
They walk in life like it is a breeze.
And when a natural disaster hits them they try to flee.
They dwell in their misery, "oh so-and-so did this to me"
Depressing their heart and soul.
Running after the gold and trying to fit the cookie cut mould.
They think their character is bold
But when the truth is told they hold onto their ears while they sip their beers.
Living life without any fear as they look over the pier.
Not shedding any tears, their hearts are cold, rotten and hard.
They are making their life worth just a piece of card whilst they walk on the shard.

People can learn from mistakes.
But the arrogant and prideful like to break, break, BREAK.
Take, take, TAKE.
Masking up their faces with all that is fake, fake, FAKE.
Whilst they eat their cake, cake, CAKE.
And others they 'roast' and bake, bake, BAKE.
And men and women they rape.
Children they take.

Oh for Gods sake!

Where have the morals gone
The light in them must have once shone.
Everyone was once an innocent baby born.
But now their conscience is on the run!
As they live by the gun!
What, they're stunned?
People they shun?
No weapons of mass destruction here, you're the one with them and the gun.

Muslims have always been strangers.
Open your EYES PEOPLE, Muslims are NOT the dangers.
It's more like the immoral wo/man that's living to you next door.
The one that throws the first stone and says Muslims caused the war.
They don't know a thing about Islam.
They try to please their man-made-man
and as is their case, they need something or someone to blame
They can't have their vile faces getting the negative fame.
They blame the innocent.
Whilst they're the grunts and treat and call their women c*n**

And then they have the nerve to say "Muslim women are oppressed".
While they walk the turf half-dressed
Now I'll tell you what's oppression
Take heed, here's a lesson
Oppression is trying to please the eyes of a human whilst from God you run.
Now you're stunned...
Your heart does not agree
And from your conscience you try to flee.
When you switch on your TV
They brainwash you and tell you what you should be
You live your life comparing yourself and wishing 'if only that was me',
You need to open your eyes and see
Oppression is when your heart is spiritually covered, diseased and your body physically on show because that's what it is, a show
Whilst deep down inside you've lost your glow
You've turned away from the truth
And are stuck in worldly vortex booth.
That's the oppression and there's your lesson
There's no need to explain further because covered hearts have a statement to make -- outwardly they'll walk around half-naked because they are so dead inside and the only pleasure they get is from the worldly lies and pleasing lustful wo/mens eyes.

Then they say how unhappy they are,
Whilst they chase their desires, fast cars and trendy bars...
Sending the ignorant to wars made by greedy elites
Whilst those with a conscience get PTSD and fall to their feet.
They call Muslims terrorists.
Whilst they make their hit lists and spread lies and deceive the eyes.

Islam is the religion of peace
Don't you understand?
Haven't you read the history books and context
Oh wait, I forgot, you're too stuck in the worldly vortex...
You don't care for peace and love which is Islam.
Go please your man-made man
And go on in your delusion
Wander the earth in your confusion.
To God we will all answer to in the end, friend.

They can hate Muslims all they like.
c'est la vie pas le Paradise!
Muslims know and understand life is a test.
The simple, peaceful are the best.
We don't need to fit in with the rest
Who are slaves to people, desires and fires
Puppets on strings not realising compared to the afterlife this world is nothing.

Little Things

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

Today I have something to share.
They are words that I came across at university and decided to write down on a piece of paper.
I came across them AGAIN today as I was looking through my old folder that contained some of my past university work...
This is something I love about looking through old stuff.
The quote "oh the places you'll go" by Dr Suess comes to mind. And in a tune this lingers in my mind "oh the things you will come across".

This is a poem by Julia Fletcher Carney and it's called Little Things.

Little drops of water,
little grains of sand,
make the mighty ocean
and the bounteous land.

And the little moments,
humble though they be,
make the might ages
of eternity.

So our little errors
lead the soul away
from the paths of virtue
into sin to stray.

Little deeds of kindness,
little words of love,
make our earth an Eden,
like the Heaven above.

Jesus spoke to the World

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

The  Prophet Jesus (Esa) peace be upon him, saw the world (dunya) embellished like a beautiful prostitute and he asked her: "Who are you?"
She said: "I am the dunya."
and Jesus asked: "How many partners have you had?"
and she said: "Every person that has come to this dunya (world) has been my partner."
and Jesus asked: "How many have you been faithful to?"
and she said: "Not even one."
and Jesus said: "Fool is he who falls in love with you after he has seen what you have done to your previous partners!"

Natural Advice

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

I found this image on Google.
I came across this many, many, many years ago.
I absolutely love it.

Image found on Google.
I came across this image and words today.

I absolutely LOVE nature.
I think nature is the best place to be in on this earth. The whole earth is nature. I guess some places have too many boxes so it feels like we are not in nature sometimes. I would rather be out amongst nature than stuck inside a box.

I have mentioned these words before and I'll mention them again because I really like them, they are by Anne Frank:
"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be."

I love trees. I love the autumn when the leaves fall and I love the spring when the flowers bloom amongst the leaves.
I love all the seasons. I love all the change.
As difficult as change may be in life sometimes, one finds that even within the change there is beauty. We just need to LOOK and SEE. It's all around us. It's a gift from God. It's a metaphor. It is love.

People get their big houses, fancy cars. People get their glam and glitter. People wear the fancy clothes and high heels. People go to the shows and max up their music loud and go to the night-clubs and bars.  People talk and talk.......

But simply, I like to lay on the grass and look up at the sky, that's my home. The earth is my bed and the sky is my blanket. Sweat, blood and tears are glitter, gold and light. I like to walk on the earth, smell and feel the breeze. I like to walk bare foot and feel the ground and it's temperature beneath my feet. I like to lay awake at night and gaze up at the stars. I like the silence. Nature is my music.
I like to listen, I like to hear, I like to look and I like to see.
The serenity is in the simplicity. The serenity cannot be bought, it is free.
People like to put price tags on it and think they can buy happiness. They are the biggest fools of them all.

Nature is a gift from God and it gives us the best advice. We need to sit in silence and listen. We need to use our heads and hearts and THINK.
Nature is humans good friend. God gave us it as a gift.

I'll end this post with some more food for thought:
Sometimes we need to see the forest from the tree(s). Sometimes we need to see the tree from the forest. It depends on the situation.

May God the turner of hearts forgive all our mistakes, errors and sins. May we be amongst the righteous such as prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. May God grant us jannah-al-firdaus Amin.

Time stood still

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

So, yesterday was my birthday. An interesting thing happened.
I always wear a watch on my right arm, always. I have for the past 2-4 years.
I woke up for work on time. Put my watch on and then got dressed.
I walk to work so I have to get up earlier. I have a different start time each week. It takes me about 20-25 minutes to get there. I looked at my watch and I thought I need to get out the house ASAP to get to work on time.... It turned out I was not late and that the time [on the watch of course] had just stopped, funnily enough, on the time I was supposed to get out the house and that's why I thought I was late...All was good in the end.
I like to go off on tangents I'll cut to the chase!

I found it very interesting that out of all days, my watch stopped working, it fell on my birthday.
It was a reminder to me that life is short and one does not know when their time will fall short in this world.
It also made me realise that I need to be more present.
Sometimes we get stuck in the past or focus too much on the future that we forget the PRESENT. We forget the gift of right here, right NOW.
The thing about the past and future are that they cannot be held and you cannot hear the clock ticking of those moments. The present can be held and you hear the clock ticking right now, this very moment.
The past is long gone, let it go. The future may never come, let it go. You're here in the present, the GIFT, the right now. Hold it and make the most of it.
We don't have the past and we don't have the future we have the PRESENT TIME.

I found this on Google. I think I agree.

May God The Almighty guide us and forgive us all for our shortcomings, mistakes and errors Amin.

:)

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

Smile.
Smiles :)
I love smiles.
I love it when people smile.
I love making people smile.
I hope you smile.

Eyes are the windows to the soul.
I remember when I was in Secondary school a teacher told me how her baby daughters first ever smile was not with her mouth but her eyes.
I knew exactly what she was talking about because I always have noticed smiles in peoples eyes not their mouths, my whole life.
I never saw real smiles with the mouth. The mouth only moves. The eyes speak volumes.
You can see the joy and sorrow, the truth sometimes when you look into someone's eyes.
I have seen many times how people smiled with their mouths but their eyes had a different emotion.
People always fascinated me. I say that like I'm some distant alien haha. But us humans we are interesting bunch aren't we!
I always found humanity and the lack thereof very interesting....

All Muslims will agree with the fact they are strangers because we are always associated with the distant, odd and whatever else the CLOSED-MINDS want to ascribe...
We become a stranger in the sight of others...

That is a great blessing by God that He has given us Muslims ability to SEE. Now, we may not SEE all that there is to SEE but we SEE something and everything that God wills. And that is beautiful.

So smile you stranger.
Glad tidings to the strangers.

:( Sad

I start in the name of God, The Most Merciful, The most Kind.

I absolutely love listening to these.
I like to listen in down times.

Sometimes we all need to heart hear motivating words every now and then,
I was typing HEAR but accidentally typed HEART
Isn't that interesting!

God is the Most Merciful.

Be Somebody

I start in the name of God The Most Merciful, The Most Kind.

I came across this on Instagram.

It made me think........

When I was a lot younger I always wanted to be somebody.
In the West we are taught that if you're not, so called, somebody, you will not amount to much in life. We are taught that power, status, wealth, lineage, beauty etc, is the key to life and being somebody. NO! That is not true!
The key to life actually is simplicity.
I'm sure many people will agree that as youngsters they wanted to be something, somebody, whatever you want to call it.
We all want to feel special in some way.
I think with our our ideas of wanting to be somebody or something, we think it will lead us to being or rather feeling 'special'.
Well at least that was my thought process as a kid (and even sometimes as a so called adult). I think it is many peoples thought process whether they admit it or not.
There were times when I felt like a nobody.
One day I realised that in the eyes of people I may be nobody but God created me and to God I will always be somebody and therefore I am special. Therefore we all are special.
The realisation of this made me feel special. This made me realise how to BE SOMEBODY. This being somebody is not ephemeral (like in this world).
God gifted us with being somebody forever.
The realisation of this is what makes one content in life. Those that don't realise this are at a great loss - They are the nobody

I always wanted to make a mark in the world and do something big. I always thought that making a big difference was important then one day I realised:
"Everyone is trying to accomplish something big, not realising that life is made up of little things." ~ Frank Clark
It is these little things that count in the end.
In the grand scheme of things this so called LIFE, in the end will not matter. None of this will matter.
What will matter is not the matter itself but the soul. The heart. The love. The Peace.

I realised that small and simple actions, for example, a SMILE - making someone feel happy makes the BIG difference.... That's what matters.

I realised that BEING SOMEBODY is when you touch someone's heart and leave a mark. When people remember you and you live forever within their hearts and they pray for you, whether you are aware of it or not, that is the essence of this life. That is what matters.

I opened my eyes one day and realised that God created me and I have been somebody all along I just wasn't aware of it...

I will end this post with these words I came across, not sure who the author is of them (some say it's Steve Jobs):
I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.
However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.
At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.
In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god, of death drawing closer…
Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…
Should be something that is more important:
Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days

Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.
God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.
The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me. What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.
That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.
Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.
What is the most expensive bed in the world? The sick bed…
You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – Life.
When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – the Book of Healthy Life.
Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.
Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends.
Treat yourself well. Cherish others.
